Gatsby lies about his past as he explains it to Nick. Nick really is not buying it. I believe that Gatsby goes a little over board with telling "lies" he says. But, Gatsby has proof to back up what the things he said he have done in the past. For example the metals from the War, and a picture that he has from being an "Oxford Man".
Gatsby is clearly above the law. He gets stopped by the police and he shows the a white card. The officer gives the card back and tells Gatsby sorry for bothering him. It's safe to say that if you had enough power in society and wealthy for that matter, you can be above the law. Gatsby introduces Wolfshiem to Nick. He comes off as a shady character. Nick gut feeling is true when Wolfshiem tells him that world series was paid. I would be in the same position that Nick is in and question where and how Gatsby gets his money.
Gatsby wants to see Daisy again but is afraid of her reacted to the situation. So he wants Nick to set up where she comes over and he was going to be there by accident. So I wonder what Daisy react will be. It can go either way, good or bad.
